Natalie (Nat) is a British-Italian theatre director from Derby.
She works across new writing, devised work, and classical texts, creating interdisciplinary, highly visual productions that fuse movement, text, music, architecture and dance. Her work is defined by bold theatricality and a desire to challenge form — creating productions that stir the imagination and say: this is what it’s really like to be alive.
Originally training as an actor at East 15, her practice was rooted in devising, with strong influences from Lecoq and Gaulier. She later completed an MA in Directing at Bristol Old Vic Theatre School. Nat was nominated for Best Director at the 2023 Off West End Awards for her production of The Ugly One by Marius von Mayenburg and was the 2024 Jerwood Assistant Director at the Young Vic.
She has worked across the UK, West End, and internationally, with venues including the Trafalgar Theatre, Young Vic, Sheffield Theatres, Bristol Old Vic, Soho Theatre, Theatre Royal Bath (Ustinov), Marylebone Theatre, Royal & Derngate, and Nottingham Playhouse.
Recently, Nat directed and adapted the critically acclaimed, all-female and non-binary production of Henry V, which enjoyed a six-week run in Bristol and was described as “pure magic”.
For the past two years, she has been Associate Director to Patrick Marber collaborating on multiple productions including reviving the Olivier-nominated What We Talk About When We Talk About Anne Frank.
